News Flash Sept/October 2020
Hello to all our U3A members, we hope that you are all keeping safe and well in these trying times with both weather and Covid-19 restrictions.
It was with regret that we found it necessary to cancel our August General Meeting but it is better to keep us all safe just now. All going well we hope to bring you our Christmas General Meeting as usual on November 26th. Further details will be available with the next newsletter at the beginning of November.
NEW --------- GARDENING GROUP
Sue Pollard has advised us that she would like to start up a Gardening group for members to be held on the 2nd Thursday of the month in the afternoons. Expressions of interest are invited from members who are keen to attend this group. When we have an indication of interested attendees we will contact you with an initial meeting date to discuss ideas and format.
If this sounds like you, please forward your name to the Secretary, Trish Loye by replying to this email or by telephone to 878 5920.
BOOK GROUP – We are still looking for an enthusiastic group of readers to start up our book group again and would appreciate any expressions of interest. Time and day can be arranged to suit.
As we are getting closer to the end of the year and I need to put together the new list of groups for 2021, I would appreciate it if the Conveners could advise me if there are to be any changes of Convener or format for next year. Please let me know at your earliest convenience.
There will be a full newsletter at the beginning of November to include group details and membership forms ready for our Xmas Meeting and the 2021 year.
Thank you to our groups who all managed to keep going during the Covid-19 level restrictions and in many cases increase our membership with new members taking part. I am sure we can look forward to our U3A growing from strength to strength with keen participation from members.
