Our group is part of a world-wide organization. The U3A was founded in 1973 in France with the aim of providing a learning for those who missed an academic chance to learn. Specifically, for those in the older age group and no longer in full time employment. Today there are U3A groups all over the world. Its focus has now significantly changed.
We are a voluntary society providing a wide variety of activities for those over 55. We have interest groups, social groups, learning groups, activites and free technology support for your computers and cell phones. .Our annual fee is only $10. We have quarterly meetings with brunch and speakers which are very well attended.
Our 300 members are involved in over 40 groups which range from Art Appreciation to Philosophy, Computing, cycling, cinema visits, music, gardening, scrabble, drama and lunch groups etc.. All the "groups" are listed on the heading page as are our computing tutorials.
